We listen to music, chosen by members of the group, played on CDs or streamed via phones or tablets through the excellent audio system in Embleton Village Hall. Usually everyone gets to play a couple of tracks and sometimes one or two of us offer a fuller programme of favourites. Selections come from a broad and diverse range of sources including classical, pop, jazz, film, vocal (songs and opera) and instrumental (solo and orchestral) music. We have started to use themes, the music of dance for example, to organise the meetings and we always make time to talk about what we have chosen to play. If you just want to listen rather than play your own selection that's ok too.
Dates for 2026 are 27th January, 24th February, 24th March, 21st April, 19th May, 16th June, 14th July, 22nd September, 20th October, 17th November, 15th December, and 12th January 2027.
