NEWS
New Group

The Proper Human Diet

Some people may ask the question “Why is the way I’m eating not working?”, which is a very large topic. The proposed group would look at how science determined ancient diets, some modern history that has impacted our current diets, the vast ocean of misleading propaganda, the current health systems and political bias. Also bringing in modern technology to enlighten any changes people might choose. Given the large scope of this subject, the Leader of the Group will go slowly and bring members along at their own pace.

To join the group, login, go to the group page, find the group (under registration groups at the bottom) and click 'Join this Group'

Trip to Windermere

Anyone fancy a day trip to Windermere?

This is a trip with a difference as it’s to enjoy the sights, sounds (and smells possibly) of United Utilities' Windermere Sewage Treatment Works! It’s being organised by the Science & Technology Group, but there’s a few places left for general u3a members. It’s in a lovely location by the lakeside between Bowness and Newby Bridge. It's on Tuesday, 11 August, leaving Cockermouth by car at 11.00 and returning by ca 17.00. Email Leslie Webb (click to reply) asap to book a place if you’re interested.
