If you are interested in the theory and practical application of interpersonal skills for personal development, come along to our friendly group where we will cover a range of techniques. Psychology is the science of mind and behaviour. This group will study well researched theories of personality development in the context of psychotherapy and personal development. Emphasis is on fun, learning, personal growth and the potential to help others. If you are interested, please ask to join online or contact the Group Leader to discuss.
UPDATEPlease note the new time, date and location for this group:

- The group will follow a course of study that might include, client centred counselling, Transactional Analysis, Gestalt theory, systemic practise (that might be used by professionals in helping families), fundamental psychological needs, CBT, parenting theories, the helping relationship, self-growth.
- We will most likely mention such topics as: self-efficacy, what it means – and how it feels - to be unconditionally accepted, deep empathy, dreams and we might mention such famous names as Freud, Jung, Maslow, Skinner, De Shazer.
- The group will be lead by Peter Crompton and Heather Long. We will try to be flexible so that we can meet your needs and preferences with some regard to content and how we work. There will be group discussion and practical work. Nobody has to do anything that doesn’t interest them and there will be no work to do outside of the group.
- From my experience of running other groups I think you will find this new U3A group interesting, supportive and enjoyable. I hope to see you there.
